Navy Surgeon General Visit to Pittsburgh Highlights TBI Research

Vice Admiral Forrest Faison III, Surgeon General of the US Navy visited UPMC, Pitt School of Medicine, and the UPMC Rooney Sports complex. VADM Faison learned about cutting edge research into traumatic brain injury being conducted in Pittsburgh. CMMR has actively facilitated the work of Targeted Evaluation, Action, and Monitoring of Traumatic Brain Injury (TEAM TBI). TEAM TBI has developed comprehensive intake, imaging (including high definition fiber tracking), and treatment therapies for TBI aimed at improving the lives of those who suffer from such injuries, especially service members.
