On August 25, 2022, COL Stuart Tyner, PhD, Department of Defense Chief of the Military Infectious Disease Research Program (MIDRP), visited the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Military Medicine Research, School of Public Health, and School of Medicine's Department of Infectious Diseases to outline opportunities and partnerships between the University of Pittsburgh and the research programs at MIDRP. COL Tyner met with School of Public Heath Dean, Maureen Lichtveld and her team along with Dr. John Mellors and his team at the School of Medicine's Department of Infectious Diseases to discuss current research topics. Our Director, Dr. Ron Poropatich facilitated the visit to help create greater awareness of the university's research programs that could align with the needs of the Department of Defense infectious disease research programs.
