The Defense Health Agency's goal for the Omnibus initiative is to transition findings and innovations from the R&D phase into medical practice to better delivery combat casualty care for patients suffering an injury or illness. 

The University of Pittsburgh is one of two academic institutions in the nation to be awarded this 5-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a 5-year renewal with a total potential award (for the whole program) of up to $10 billion!
